Motobilt Project Red V2.0
- by Dan DuBose
Many of you may probably remember "Project Red, a Jeep JKUR that we built a few years back. Well we brought it back for several updates so be sure to follow along. We installed a brand new Motobilt Jeep JK Crusher front bumper loaded out with stinger and grill hoop along with the Factor 55 Pro link and Smittybilt winch. This new bumper design allowed us to recess the winch down into the bumper and opened up the front grill again. We still wanted full protection so we added the grill hoop and stinger up front. Another nice feature of the new Crusher series of bumpers is the integrated skid plate that keeps the front end protected.Next a set of our brand new Motobilt JKU rocker guards with built in steps were installed to protect the Jeeps panels while still be useful as a step. These steps are securely mounted via 2 body mounts, one on each end of the frame, and 13 bolts in the side of the body. They wrap underneath the body all the way to the frame rail for full protection. The holes in the side of the steps are points to use a high lift jack if ever needed. To protect the engine compartment from everything the 37's were slinging up from the trail we installed a set of Motobilt inner fenders front and rear. The fenders also look pretty awesome as they fill that empty gap that is left when installing aftermarket fenders.Savvy Aluminum half doors painted and installedWe had a new Hard Rock edition hood painted and installed. The Trail Gear beadlocks were powder coated a new set of 37" good years installed
Be sure to stay tuned as we install even more Motobilt goodies onto "Project Red."
