Learn About Our Bumpers

Why Choose a Motobilt Bumper?

Motobilt bumpers are designed from the ground up for real off-road use. Every steel bumper we produce starts as laser-cut 3/16 inch plate steel, is formed with precision, and then welded to our exacting standards. Each and every bumper includes ¾ inch thick, laser-cut steel plate D-Ring Mounts that pass through the bumper and are welded both internally and externally. Unlike mass-produced, overseas alternatives, each Motobilt bumper is fabricated in the USA with durability, fitment, and trail-ready function in mind.

Built For the Trail

Engineered for Strength & Style

Our bumpers aren’t just armor, they’re part of your Jeep’s identity. Whether you need a compact stubby front bumper for rock crawling or a full-width rear bumper for overland travel, Motobilt has you covered. Each design maximizes approach and departure angles while maintaining mounting points for factory sensors, winches, and recovery gear. Optional accessories include light mounts, fairlead mounts, and skid plates.

Motobilt off-road bumpers improve performance by increasing ground clearance and optimizing approach angles. Their integrated mounts allow recovery gear and accessories to be safely secured, making your Jeep more capable and self-reliant on the trail.

No Compromises

Trail-tested. Made in the USA.

When you choose Motobilt, you’re investing in American craftsmanship and parts designed by off-roaders, for off-roaders.

What makes Motobilt bumpers different from other brands?

Motobilt bumpers are designed, cut, welded, and finished in house at Motobilt from start to finish using 3/16" steel and trail-proven designs. Every bumper is tested for strength, clearance, and function before release.

Do your bumpers work with factory sensors and cameras?

Many models are compatible or offer provisions for OEM back up sensors where as the cameras are mounted in the tailgate and front grill and thus not affected by the bumper. Fitment notes are listed on each product page. Or you can call in or use the chat feature on the website to talk with a customer service rep.

Are Motobilt bumpers winch-ready?

Yes. All front bumpers feature integrated winch mounts. Recessed winch mount bumpers include a built in fairlead where top mounted winch bumpers will require a fairlead mount.

Can I run factory fog lights or aftermarket lighting?

Our Hammer and Hatchet series allow for factory fog lights. Crusher HD and Gladius front bumpers allow for aftermarket lighting such as the Baja Designs Squadron R series.

Yes. Every aspect from laser cutting, press brake forming, to welding is all done in house at  Motobilt in Ozark, Alabama.

Do Motobilt bumpers require cutting or welding?

Most bumpers are direct bolt-on, while some high clearance and frame chop bumpers may require frame or body trimming for fitment and also may require welding to the frame. Frame chop bumpers sound like a cutting tool such as the Hatchet or Tomahawk, whereas bolt on bumpers sound like a blunt force instrument like Hammer or Crusher.

Bumpers are shipped in raw steel, ready for your choice of paint or powder coat finish.  You must paint or powder coat your bumper.
