We still had to finish the \u003cstrong\u003e\u003ca href=\"\/collections\/black-jku-build\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eBlack JKU\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e that was in the shop before starting to work on Alex's Jeep.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv id=\"divtext\" style=\"display: none;\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFast forward a little over a year and the 2018 Jeep JL was released. Alex test drove one and decided he wanted the Jeep JL. Motobilt had not yet finished the Black JKU build so Alex decided to fly down to grab his Jeep JK and trade it in on a new 2018 Jeep JL.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAround January 2019 Alex brought his JL to Motobilt with less than 5000 miles on it. Before he left we put the JL up on the lift and stripped the axles and transfer case \"for one of my best friends Cody Davis to use on his Motobilt YJ build (@the_altered_yj).\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlex's overall goal for the build was an LCG (low center of gravity) build on 1 tons with ORIs, on 42s, flat belly, half doors, B pillar chop, custom cage and some PRP seats. Now a lot has happened with Motobilt since Alex and Dan met back in 2017. We've moved shops twice as Motobilt expanded and grew the business and hired new employees. There are always delays with builds, as Motobilt is focused primarily on manufacturing, and Alex has been understanding throughout those delays.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlex's build is coming along nicely now, as Bruce Hodder and Bender design and prototype. The Tomahawk front bumper was designed from concepts developed on the TJ Front Half Frame Kit we manufacture. The Motobilt Tomahawk Front Winch Bumper offers many features for the avid off-roader. This original & unique front frame chop bumper design features an upswept shape that gives you more clearance & increased approach angle than any other bumper / frame chop bumper available on the market. We integrated a second opening in the underside of the bumper which allows you to route your winch line directly downwards to suck down your front suspension, which in turn, lowers your center of gravity, increasing your vehicles' ability to climb steep obstacles. This concept is widely used in competitive rock crawling.
Covering all Jeep Wrangler model years from 2007 through to current, this product fits all Jeep JK (2 door), JKU (4 door), JL (2 door), JLU (4 door) & Jeep JT Gladiator models. Permanent modification to & drilling of the frame is required. Slight clearancing of the two forwardmost body mounts is required prior to installation.
A vacuum Pump Relocation Bracket is required on the Jeep JK / JKU 2012-2018 to install the Motobilt Tomahawk Frame Chop Bumper.
NOTE: You WILL NOT be able to return your vehicle back to factory bumpers after installation of this product.

The winch mounting pattern measures 10" x 4.5"
This product is designed to accept a variety of brand names & physical sizes of recovery winches, including the complete Warn Zeon, EVO product lines up to their largest Warn Zeon winch model, the Warn Zeon 12-S Platinum. This product IS NOT COMPATIBLE with the Warn MB8274 winch OR the CTI models. In fact, we recommend any offset winch NOT be used with the Tomahawk bumper.
The winch fairlead mounting pattern measures 10" center-to-center of the holes. This product is compatible with most Hawse Fairleads. We do not recommend using a roller fairlead with the Tomahawk Frame Chop Front Bumper.
We cannot cover all winches and variations. The bumper will fit other winches. One way of looking at it is if the larger Zeon 12k will fit a smaller M8000 would fin in the same place. We do have the winch mounting holes slotted to accommodate different shape winches.
