But my jeep was unfortunately totaled.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter several years, Alex finally received the replacement value of his Jeep JK and it was time to plan out his next build to be even bigger and better. He was introduced to Motobilt back in January of 2017 when he was down in the area for some military training.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlex had been a fan of Motobilt products and once he met founder Dan DuBose and the Motobilt crew he decided that he wanted Motobilt to do a custom build on his Jeep. Through some discussion and talking over some details, Dan agreed to do the build, which at the time was a 2016 Jeep JKU. We still had to finish the \u003cstrong\u003e\u003ca href=\"\/collections\/black-jku-build\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eBlack JKU\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e that was in the shop before starting to work on Alex's Jeep.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv id=\"divtext\" style=\"display: none;\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFast forward a little over a year and the 2018 Jeep JL was released. Alex test drove one and decided he wanted the Jeep JL. Motobilt had not yet finished the Black JKU build so Alex decided to fly down to grab his Jeep JK and trade it in on a new 2018 Jeep JL.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAround January 2019 Alex brought his JL to Motobilt with less than 5000 miles on it. Before he left we put the JL up on the lift and stripped the axles and transfer case \"for one of my best friends Cody Davis to use on his Motobilt YJ build (@the_altered_yj).\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlex's overall goal for the build was an LCG (low center of gravity) build on 1 tons with ORIs, on 42s, flat belly, half doors, B pillar chop, custom cage and some PRP seats. Now a lot has happened with Motobilt since Alex and Dan met back in 2017. We've moved shops twice as Motobilt expanded and grew the business and hired new employees. There are always delays with builds, as Motobilt is focused primarily on manufacturing, and Alex has been understanding throughout those delays.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAlex's build is coming along nicely now, as Bruce Hodder and Bender design and prototype. The Motobilt E locker guard for the Jeep JL Rubicon rear axle protects the harness for the locker. Made of 3/16 inch steel plate this guard will protect the wiring harness plug that goes into the top of the differential. This setup bolts in using 2 of the differential cover mounting bolts.
