The rear of a Gladiator takes abuse on the trail, especially around the corners, departure angle, and recovery points. Factory bumpers offer limited protection and do not give builders much confidence when recovery or hard trail use becomes part of the equation. Many bumpers add weight and lose factory functionality in the process.
The Motobilt Hammer Rear Bumper was designed to solve that problem without forcing compromises. This bumper keeps critical factory systems in place while adding the strength, recovery points, and protection serious Gladiator builds need. It reuses factory wiring, retains the factory 4-7 pin trailer connector, works with the factory hitch, and accommodates factory rear park assist sensors using bolt-in sensor mounts designed to position them near stock locations.
Built from steel and reinforced where it matters, the Hammer rear bumper includes two fully welded 3/4-inch recovery mounts tied into the structure of the bumper, frame reinforcement brackets, and protection for the vulnerable Gladiator bed corners. The recessed step includes serrated edges for secure footing and the recessed license plate mount keeps the rear profile clean while maintaining practical function.
Like many Motobilt parts, this bumper was designed from a builder’s perspective. Clearance, recovery strength, wiring serviceability, and fitment were all considered. Integrated zip tie mounts help keep wiring organized, and if your Gladiator is not equipped with rear park sensors, blank-off plates are included to cleanly finish those openings.
This is a bolt-on bumper, but it is far more than a simple replacement. It is designed for builders who use their trucks, tow with them, wheel them, and expect armor to do more than just look the part.
