The factory front bumper on the Jeep JL and JT sits relatively high, but once you start adding a winch and pushing into harder terrain, packaging and clearance become an issue. Many bumpers mount the winch high and forward, which affects airflow, increases leverage on the frame, and reduces approach angle. Builders looking for a cleaner setup often run into fitment issues trying to tuck a winch down low between the frame rails.

The Motobilt Crusher recessed winch bumper is designed to solve that problem by positioning the winch low and tight between the frame rails. This improves weight distribution and keeps the winch protected while maintaining a better approach angle compared to traditional winch bumpers. The integrated high clearance design includes a built-in skid plate to protect the front crossmember and underside when coming into obstacles.

Constructed from 3/16 inch thick steel plate, this bumper is laser cut and CNC formed for consistent fitment. The recovery points are built using 3/4 inch thick laser cut D-ring mounts that pass completely through the bumper and are welded on both sides. This design ties the recovery points directly into the structure for real strength during winching and recovery situations.

The bumper is designed around a standard 10 inch by 4.5 inch winch mounting pattern and has been tested with Warn VR EVO and Zeon series winches. With an overall width of 46 inches, it keeps the front end tight and provides the clearance needed for larger tires up to 40 inches.
