The factory rear bumper on the Jeep JL and JLU limits departure angle and does not provide much protection around the rear corners. Once larger tires are installed and the Jeep is used off road, the rear of the vehicle becomes more exposed and more likely to contact obstacles.
Many high-clearance bumpers improve departure angle but remove functionality, especially when it comes to spare tire clearance or lighting options. Builders often end up choosing between clearance, lighting, and factory features.
The Motobilt Crusher rear bumper with light cutouts is designed to solve those issues by combining clearance, lighting integration, and full bolt-on installation. The bumper sits tight to the body to improve departure angle while still allowing the use of a rear-mounted spare tire.
This version includes integrated cutouts for 3 inch by 3 inch cube lights with internal mounts designed for standard stud-style lighting. These are not flush mount openings, but instead provide a protected mounting location for auxiliary lighting at the rear of the vehicle.
The bumper is constructed from 3/16 inch laser cut steel plate and includes 3/4 inch D ring mounts that pass through the bumper and are welded on both sides for strength. It also wraps around the rear corners to provide added protection to the body.
Backup sensor cutouts are built into the design, allowing factory sensors to be relocated into the bumper. For vehicles not equipped with sensors, blank inserts are included to maintain a clean appearance.
The bumper works with the factory receiver hitch and allows clearance for up to a 40 inch spare tire when paired with an adjustable tire carrier such as the MB1089.
This is a bolt-on rear bumper designed for builders who want improved clearance, integrated lighting options, and rear protection without modifying the factory frame.

What size lights fit in the bumper cutouts?
This bumper is designed for 3 inch by 3 inch cube lights using standard stud-style mounting. These are not flush mount cutouts. We use Baja Designs Squadron's.
Does this bumper work with the factory spare tire?
Yes. It is designed to retain the factory spare tire location and can accommodate up to a 40 inch tire when used with an adjustable tire carrier.
Do I need to cut or drill to install this bumper?
No. This is a fully bolt-on design.
Does this bumper support backup sensors?
Yes. It includes cutouts for relocating factory backup sensors and includes blank inserts for Jeeps without sensors.
Will this work with the factory hitch?
Yes. The bumper is designed to work with the factory receiver hitch.
