Product Description
On Jeep JKU builds running a drop tailgate, the factory hinge cutouts in the rear corners are no longer needed. Leaving those openings in place creates a broken body line and an unfinished look.
The Motobilt MB1139-T Rear Corner Armor is designed to eliminate those cutouts, giving the rear of the Jeep a clean and continuous panel. This version is intended specifically for builders running a drop tailgate who want a cleaner finish.
Like the standard version, this corner armor replaces the factory sheet metal with 3/16-inch steel for improved durability and protection. It also features an integrated recessed tail light housing designed for Motobilt MB6504 5-inch round tail lights. This version is designed for stock wheelbase Jeep JKU builds.
A dedicated pocket below the tail light includes a Baja Designs S1 light for auxiliary reverse lighting. This setup keeps the lights protected while improving rear visibility when backing up on the trail or around camp.
An aluminum trim ring surrounds the tail light and can be customized to match the build, adding a finished appearance to the rear corners.
This version is designed for builders who want a clean rear profile without factory hinge cutouts while gaining the strength of steel corner armor and upgraded rear lighting.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between MB1139 and MB1139-T?
MB1139 retains the factory tailgate hinge cutouts. MB1139-T eliminates those cutouts to create a clean, uninterrupted body line when using a drop tailgate.
Do I need this version if I have a drop tailgate?
Yes. If your Jeep JKU is equipped with a drop tailgate, the factory hinge openings are no longer used. The MB1139-T removes those cutouts for a cleaner finished appearance.
Do these replace the factory tail lights?
Yes. The corner armor includes recessed housings for the included Motobilt MB6504 5-inch round LED tail lights along with integrated Baja Designs S1 auxiliary reverse lights.
Will these fit a Jeep JK 2 Door?
No. The MB1139-T is designed specifically for the 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JKU 4 Door. The MB1137-T is the corresponding version for the 2 Door JK.
