Builders looking for more tire clearance on a Jeep JL or Jeep JT Gladiator often start with the factory two-piece Rubicon or Mojave fenders. Splitting the factory fenders is a simple and effective way to gain clearance for larger diameter tires without replacing the entire flare system, but once the fenders are chopped, the outer flare loses support. That creates movement at speed, poor fitment, and the flopping fender problem most builders want to avoid.
The Motobilt Fender Support Bracket Kit was designed to solve that problem while maintaining the factory split-fender approach. These brackets support the outer flare after the fenders are chopped, add rigidity to the assembly, and help clean up the finished look of the modification. This is a practical upgrade for builders who want added clearance without jumping straight into full aftermarket fenders.
Each bracket is CNC formed from a single piece of 11 gauge steel. The formed bends add strength to the structure while keeping the design simple and effective. The outer edge includes provisions to bolt the fender flare securely to the support bracket, and zip tie holes along the top edge help secure wiring for builders relocating side marker lights to the outer flare.
Forward facing holes are built into the brackets for optional LED turn signal or side marker lights. Builders wanting to add those lights can drill a 3/4-inch hole in the outer flare for installation. One pair of optional LED lights adds either side markers or turn signals. Two pairs allow both.
This kit includes left and right support brackets along with mounting hardware and ships bare steel so builders can prep and paint to match the vehicle or other components. Like many Motobilt parts, these were designed around real modification work. Simple, strong, and intended to support a common Jeep clearance upgrade.
Important Fitment Note
Jeep JL and JT factory fenders have two inner bracket configurations. It is very important to verify which bracket kit your vehicle needs before ordering. Use our Fender Bracket Guide to identify whether this kit or MB1135-NR is correct for your Jeep before purchase.
