Roll Cage Accessories FAQ
Are cage accessories interchangeable between Jeep models?
No. Most accessories are designed for a specific cage or body configuration. Match your vehicle and cage part number to the accessory's fitment details.
Is a B-pillar chop kit included with every cage?
Do not assume it is included or required. B-pillar components are listed separately, and requirements depend on the cage and configuration.
How do I select a soft-top bracket?
Match the bracket to your exact cage kit and roof. JKU and JLU brackets are separate products. Have a qualified professional welder/fabricator review the supported roof and installation instructions. Do not drill, notch or cut cage tubing to route wires or mount accessories.
Do switch-panel mounts fit every cage tube?
The switch-panel mount offers tube-size choices. Choose the variant that matches the outside diameter of the tube where it will be installed.
Can Motobilt roll cages be used for racing, motorsports or highway driving?
No. Motobilt roll cages are exclusively for off-road recreational use. They are not designed, tested or rated for racing or motorsports and must not be used for competitive or high-speed activities. They are not certified or intended for on-road or highway use. Installation may render the vehicle non-compliant with federal, state or local requirements.
Does a roll cage guarantee occupant safety or preserve the factory safety systems?
No. A cage improves structural rigidity but does not guarantee occupant safety or survival in every rollover or impact. Cage installation may interfere with or disable airbags and crash sensors. The user assumes responsibility for these effects and the risks of using the vehicle.
What are the installation requirements and risks?
A qualified professional welder/fabricator is required. Improper installation can result in serious injury or death. Modification of factory panels may be necessary. Review the exact product instructions and its Important Safety & Liability Notice before installation.
Can I drill, notch or cut cage tubing for wiring or accessories?
No. Do not drill, notch or cut cage tubing to route wiring or mount accessories; this compromises its strength. If an opening is necessary, the product notice requires reinforcement with a welded-in bung or for the hole to be fully welded closed. Have a qualified professional welder/fabricator address this requirement; do not treat it as permission to leave an unreinforced opening.
What warranty and liability terms apply to Motobilt roll cages?
Motobilt roll cages are sold as-is, without express or implied warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Motobilt assumes no liability for injury, death or property damage. The end user assumes the risks. Read the full Important Safety & Liability Notice on the cage product page before purchase or use.
