The Motobilt Tomahawk high clearance rear bumper is built to pull everything in tighter and higher. By tucking the bumper closer to the body and raising its position, it improves departure angle and reduces drag when coming off obstacles. This is critical for a Gladiator where the longer wheelbase already works against you in tight terrain.
Another area builders run into issues with is the section of the bed between the wheel opening and the rear bumper. This area takes hits easily. That is why this system includes modular rocker protection to reinforce that section. You can run it for added protection or remove it depending on your build direction.
The bumper is constructed from heavy duty steel and uses recessed 3/4 inch thick pass-through D-ring mounts that are tied directly into the structure. These recovery points are positioned to maintain clearance while still being functional. The bumper also includes integrated mounting locations for compact rear lighting. Baja Designs S2 Sport lights, part number 547806, fit cleanly into the design and provide useful rear visibility on the trail.
