• Cutting the factory Jeep JK / JKU rear corner sheet metal is required.
• Drilling into factory sheet metal is required for mounting.
• Once installed, the factory tail lights cannot be reinstalled.
• If using LED round tail lights, install resistors to prevent Jeep JK Can Bus issues.
• Some round LED lights include integrated reverse lights, but additional backup lighting may still be needed depending on the setup.

Why convert to flush mount tail lights on a Jeep JK?
Factory JK tail lights stick out from the body and are easy to damage on tight trails. A flush mount setup tucks the lights into the rear corner for better protection and a cleaner body line.

What size tail lights fit this kit?
This kit is designed for many grommet style 4 inch round tail lights. Builders can choose from a range of incandescent or LED options depending on their preferred setup.

Do I need resistors for LED tail lights?
Yes. If you install LED tail lights, you will need a pair of resistors to keep the Jeep JK Can Bus system operating correctly. Motobilt offers resistor kit MB5519 separately.

Can I reinstall my factory tail lights later?

No. This conversion requires cutting the factory sheet metal, so the stock tail lights cannot be reinstalled after the kit is installed.

Does this kit include backup lights?
No. unless you use the Motobilt MB6502 4 inch round LED tail lights which have integrated reverse lights.
