Running half doors changes the look and feel of a Jeep, but the factory B-pillars often remain as a visual reminder of the original body structure. For builders running aftermarket cages and half doors, the factory B-pillars can interrupt the open-air appearance many are trying to achieve.
The Motobilt Removable B-Pillar Chop Kit was developed for builders who want a clean, professional way to convert the factory B-pillars into removable sections. The kit includes laser cut and CNC formed steel cap plates that finish the cut ends of the factory pillars while creating a strong mechanical connection between the upper and lower sections. The fastening system is designed to minimize movement and rattles while allowing the upper B-pillars to be removed and reinstalled as needed.
Designed for both Jeep Wrangler JLU and Jeep Gladiator JT applications, this kit integrates with an aftermarket roll cage by mechanically attaching the upper B-pillar section directly to the cage structure using the supplied rivnuts and hardware. When the upper pillars are removed, the mounting system remains hidden for a clean appearance.
The kit also includes seat belt blank-off plates that cover the factory front upper seat belt mounting locations. Because the factory B-pillar structure is modified during installation, front seat belts must be mounted to an aftermarket roll cage rather than the factory pillar structure.
This is not a bolt-on accessory. Cutting, welding, drilling, and fabrication are required. The result is a cleaner side profile, improved open-air appearance, and a removable B-pillar system designed specifically for cage-equipped Jeep builds.
