Assembly Instructions

The Motobilt MB1243-B High Clearance Front Inner Fenders are designed for builders who need maximum flexibility when configuring suspension components inside the front wheel wells of the Jeep JL, JLU, and JT.

Like the standard MB1243 inner fender system, these panels replace the factory plastic liners with a high-clearance aluminum design that creates additional room for larger tires and increased suspension up travel while helping protect the engine bay from mud, rocks, and debris.

The MB1243-B version is intentionally designed as a builder-friendly blank layout. The center section of the panel is left solid so builders can trim the inner fender exactly where needed to clear large coilovers, shock towers, remote reservoirs, or other custom suspension components.

In addition to the center section being blank, the rear mesh panel found on the standard inner fender versions has also been removed and replaced with a blank panel. This provides additional clearance in the rear portion of the wheel well where larger shocks, reservoirs, or custom chassis components are commonly located.

Only the front mesh ventilation panel remains in place to provide airflow while still allowing maximum freedom for trimming and fabrication.

This layout allows builders to shape the panels precisely to their application while maintaining the clean appearance and protection of a finished inner fender system.

1. Do I need high clearance inner fenders to run 40 inch tires on a Jeep JL or JT?

Most Jeep JL and JT builds running 40 inch tires will require additional wheel well clearance. Factory inner fenders were designed around smaller tire sizes and limited suspension travel. High clearance inner fenders help create the room needed for larger tires and increased suspension movement.

2. Will these inner fenders work with coil over shocks?

Yes. the MB1243-B were specifically designed with blank design from the center back to allow you to custom trim them to your shock package needs. They still have a front vent which is far enough forward to still allow cooling without interferenece.

3. Do these replace the factory inner fenders completely?

Yes. The Motobilt high clearance inner fenders replace the factory plastic inner fender liners. The new panels provide more tire clearance while still protecting engine bay components from debris coming off the tires.

4. Do these inner fenders require trimming or modifications to install?

They do require trimming for coil over shocks and Jeep builds running large tires, can choose to trim the bottom section of the fender and move it back 1.82"s as shown in the instructions but this is NOT mandatory.
