Builders working on Jeep JL, JLU, and Gladiator JT platforms quickly run into clearance and airflow limitations in the factory wheel well design. The stock plastic inner fenders leave limited room for larger tires and restrict airflow through the engine bay, which becomes more noticeable during slow speed trail driving and rock crawling.
The Motobilt High Clearance Front Inner Fenders replace the factory plastic liners with a formed aluminum design that increases tire clearance while maintaining protection for the engine compartment. The higher clearance profile provides additional room for suspension up travel and larger tire packages, helping prevent tire interference during articulation.
The MB1243-M version adds a large center ventilation panel along with the two outer vents used in the standard design. This expanded ventilation area allows significantly more airflow through the engine bay. Improved airflow can help reduce heat buildup during low speed crawling, long trail days, and demanding off-road environments where engine bay temperatures can rise.
These inner fenders are designed specifically for builders running factory style suspension systems, including Mojave Gladiator shocks. Because the center section is vented, this version is not intended to be trimmed for coilover shock tower installations.
The aluminum panels also create a clean, customizable appearance inside the wheel well. Many builders choose to powder coat or paint the mesh and panels in contrasting colors to highlight the vented design.

Do I need high clearance inner fenders to run 40 inch tires on a Jeep JL or JT?
Most Jeep JL and JT builds running 40 inch tires will require additional wheel well clearance. Factory inner fenders were designed around smaller tire sizes and limited suspension travel. High clearance inner fenders help create the room needed for larger tires and increased suspension movement.
Will these inner fenders work with Mojave shocks?
Yes. the MB1243-M will work your factory Mojave shocks and reservoirs.
Do these replace the factory inner fenders completely?
Yes. The Motobilt high clearance inner fenders replace the factory plastic inner fender liners. The new panels provide more tire clearance while still protecting engine bay components from debris coming off the tires.
Do these inner fenders require trimming or modifications to install?
They do NOT require trimming but Jeep builds running large tires, can choose to trim the bottom section of the fender and move it back 1.82"s as shown in the instructions but this is NOT mandatory.
