BILTCON Series 1 | This Was More Than an Offroad Event

There are plenty of offroad events where people show up, park in rows, walk vendor booths, and head home.

BILTCON was never meant to be that.

BILTCON Series 1 started with a simple idea. Bring builders together in one of the most capable offroad environments in the country and create something that feels real. Real trails. Real rigs. Real people.

That idea turned into a few unforgettable days in Sand Hollow, Utah.

From the moment the first rigs rolled into staging, the energy felt different. The parking lots filled with purpose-built crawlers, trail rigs, and hardcore builds from all over the country. Some vehicles were fresh builds seeing their first big obstacles. Others carried trail scars from years of rock crawling abuse. Every one of them had a story behind it.

The trails at Sand Hollow have a way of exposing both drivers and machines. The terrain is beautiful, but it is unforgiving. Massive ledges, steep climbs, off-camber descents, and slick sandstone lines push every rig to its limit. That is exactly why we chose it.

This event was built around the people who actually use their rigs.

Throughout the week, the Motobilt crew led groups across moderate, difficult, and extreme trails. Drivers tested themselves on obstacles they had only seen online before. Spotters climbed rocks guiding tires inch by inch. Cameras rolled while engines bounced off rev limiters climbing impossible looking lines.

Somewhere in the middle of all of it, complete strangers became friends.

That may be the most important part of BILTCON.

The offroad world has always been bigger than parts. It is the shared experience that matters. The breakdowns. The recoveries. The stories at the end of the trail. The conversations while waiting for the next rig to climb an obstacle. The feeling of seeing a line in person that looked impossible on YouTube.

Hunter DuBose had dreamed about building an event like this for years. BILTCON Series 1 became the realization of that vision. Months of planning, logistics, trail coordination, and nonstop effort from the Motobilt crew helped turn the idea into reality. Aaron Mercer and the Utah crew played a massive role making everything come together on the ground.

Friday night’s run through Slip Lock Gulch carried a different atmosphere. Lights glowing against the sandstone. Trail conversations echoing through the canyon. Drivers pushing deeper into the night together. It felt less like an event and more like a group of friends out wheeling.

By Saturday evening, nobody wanted it to end.

The final hangout at Lonny Boy’s BBQ wrapped up the weekend the same way it started. Surrounded by builders, rigs, and stories from the trail.

EL JEFE, Rowdy JT, and countless customer builds attacked the rocks all weekend long. Some rigs broke. Some surprised their owners. Some left Sand Hollow with fresh body damage and unforgettable memories.

That is real offroading.

That is BILTCON.

This video captures only part of what happened during BILTCON Series 1. Cameras can document the climbs, the action, and the trails, but the real experience was being there with the crew and community that showed up.

To everyone who traveled across the country to wheel with us, thank you.

This was only Series 1.
