South Alabama to Hurricane, Utah
Dan, Bender, Denver and Ryan are in the trucks, pulling the rigs west from South Alabama to Hurricane, Utah. We are bringing new builds, a lot of hard work and a road trip that is already giving us stories to tell.
Day one called for a trailer repair. Not exactly the first stop we had planned, but it is not holding us back. Between the miles and the antics along the way, this trip is already memorable, and we have not even put the buggies on the rocks at Sand Hollow yet.

Meet Kingpin and Tippin
Kingpin and Tippin are our two new buggy builds, making their debut at Trail Hero 2026. They have their own identities, but both came out of the same hands-on design and fabrication effort inside Motobilt.
A first look at what powers both builds
- Engines: 2.3L EcoBoost turbo engines.
- Transmissions: 4L60 transmissions with manual valve bodies.
- Transfer cases: Atlas.
- Rear driveline: Jesse Haines Fabrication slipper clutches.
- Axles: Spidertrax 9-inch housings with 4-inch tubes and Jesse Haines Fabrication portals.
- Tires: 42-inch Mickey Thompson Baja Boss stickies.
- Wheels: Battle Born CRAWL SPEC beadlocks.

Designed together. Fabricated in-house.
The chassis and all fabrication were handled in-house by our fantastic Motobilt team. Dan, Bender and Denver collaborated on the design, chassis layout, suspension and placement of the components.
Denver handled the CAD design and the electrical for both buggies, including the engine and chassis sides. The dash and interior design drew inspiration from the entire team. These builds reflect a shared effort, from the early layout decisions to the details you will see in person.
Dan's early direction was a “mini El Jefe” look, taking inspiration from our El Jefe build and giving these new buggies their own character.
