Rear tire clearance becomes a challenge fast once you start stretching wheelbase or moving to larger tires. Factory openings limit uptravel, and generic tube flares often do little to improve packaging around the tire. These Hatchet Rear Fender Flares were designed as part of a larger system, not as a universal flare.
These flares were specifically engineered around the Motobilt 2 Inch Stretch Corner Armor, part number MB1220. The flare profile, mounting pattern, and body lines were developed to integrate with that armor system for proper fit and appearance. When installed with MB1220, the flares provide a clean integrated package while opening the wheel well for up to 37-inch tires.
Built from 3/16-inch American steel with a double-arched profile, they add strength while significantly increasing rear wheel opening clearance. Available in 2-inch and 4-inch widths, builders can choose the tire coverage that fits their build while maintaining the clearance needed for articulation.
If installing these flares without MB1220 corner armor, or with other manufacturers’ corner armor, additional fabrication should be expected. This can include trimming additional factory sheet metal and drilling new mounting holes to adapt the flares to your application. Builders considering alternate installations can review this in the MB1220 instructions, where the relationship between the corner armor and flare fitment is shown clearly.

Will these rear fender flares fit with factory sheet metal?
These flares were designed around the Motobilt 2 Inch Stretch Corner Armor. If installing without that corner armor, additional sheet metal trimming and new mounting holes may be required.
Do these rear flares require corner armor to install?
They can be installed without corner armor, but they were designed to fit the MB1220 2 Inch Stretch Corner Armor. Other applications may require additional fabrication. Review the MB1220 instructions for fitment details.
What tire size will these clear?
The larger wheel opening is designed to accommodate up to 37-inch tires, depending on suspension setup, bump stops, and axle placement.
Will these work with rocker guards?
Yes, but if using full length or comp rocker guards, minor trimming may be required where the components overlap.
Do these come coated and ready to install?
No. They ship raw steel and should be painted or powder coated before final installation.
