Optional 1/4" Wall Bottom Tube Upgrade
Now available with a thicker-wall bottom tube! Select the .250-wall option for a 2" OD × .250" wall DOM bottom tube, paired with a 2" OD × .125" wall DOM top tube. This option adds material to the lower tube while limiting the added weight of the complete assembly.
The .250-wall option is made to order with a 2–3 week lead time.
Body mounted rocker protection has limits, especially once a Jeep JL starts seeing hard trail use and repeated contact with rocks and ledges. Builders know when a rocker takes a hit, where that force transfers matters. If the impact loads the body and body mounts, damage follows. That is the problem these frame mounted rocker guards were built to solve.
The Motobilt Frame Mounted Rocker Guards for Jeep JL 2 Door weld directly to the frame so impact loads transfer into structure instead of sheet metal. When the rocker contacts a trail obstacle, the load moves into the frame where it belongs. That makes these more than side protection. They become part of the Jeep’s armor structure. They are strong enough to be used as a jack point and built to handle real rock crawling abuse.
The mounting structure is built from 3/16 inch laser cut and CNC formed steel, creating boxed frame mounts that spread loads far beyond traditional tube mounts and gusseted designs. The 2 inch DOM outer tube provides a strong slider surface while formed end caps and center bracing add rigidity across the system. This is not protection designed around appearance. It is chassis mounted armor built around impact loads, durability, and real trail use.
Designed by builders who understand what happens when a Jeep lands hard on a rocker, these frame mounted sliders were built for serious abuse. Whether protecting body panels, sliding off obstacles, or using them as a structural part of a hard trail build, these rockers are designed to take hits and keep the body out of the damage.
