Stinger Solutions updates the Fleet with their new Hiorizon 12 Infotainment systems

At Motobilt, we’re always looking for ways to push our rigs further, whether it’s armor, suspension, or the tech that makes every trip more connected. Recently, we teamed up with Stinger Solutions to bring their all-new Horizon 12 head units into the Motobilt fleet, and the story behind it all started with a simple conversation in the shop.

From Hudson’s JK Build to a Full-Fleet Upgrade

As Dan DuBose explains:

“My son Hudson was working on a new JK project when he told me about the Horizon 12 head unit that Stinger was releasing. He wanted to use it in his build, so I went ahead and ordered one to make sure it would be here in time. The day it showed up, the guys from Stinger Solutions happened to be visiting the shop. I pointed out the UPS box, and before long we had struck up a conversation that turned into a full install across the entire Motobilt fleet.”

That chance encounter kicked off something bigger—replacing outdated head units, solving problems like glitchy charging ports, and introducing cutting-edge features that immediately elevated the experience in every rig. From better EQ controls that make the subs come alive to smart microphone placement that cuts down on wind noise during phone calls, the Horizon 12 proved to be more than just a radio—it became a major upgrade in how we experience the trail.

Inside the Box: Unpacking the Horizon 12

To give us a closer look, Tony and Don from Stinger Solutions walked us through exactly what comes in the Horizon 12 kit and how it all works together.

The Horizon 12 replaces the factory unit with a 12-inch high-definition touchscreen, redesigned HVAC vents, and an IP65 weather rating—perfect for Jeeps with the top off. Inside the box, you’ll find:

  • Installation guide & warranty card – full instructions with visuals

  • Plug-and-play harnesses – no cutting or splicing required

  • Vent block-off plates – designed for Rubicon dashes so color doesn’t show through

  • Bracketry and trim tools – everything needed for a clean, factory-style fit

  • Integration modules & connectors – enabling full communication between the Jeep and the head unit

  • HD camera module – Stinger is the only brand retaining factory high-definition camera quality

  • 12-inch Horizon screen & brain unit – the centerpiece of the system

Beyond the head unit itself, Tony also showcased the Stinger subwoofer enclosure and AudioControl 600-watt amplifier designed specifically for Jeep JL and JT models. With gold-plated terminals, under-seat mounting brackets, and a Jeep-specific wiring kit, everything is engineered to fit securely and handle the abuse of off-road terrain while looking like it came straight from the factory.

Bringing Big Sound and Big Screens to the Trail

The installation plan for “Rowdy,” our V8-swapped Jeep Gladiator, included disassembling the dash, removing the rear seat tray, and fitting the subwoofer enclosure under the seat with the amplifier mounted beneath the driver’s seat. Once complete, Rowdy—and the rest of the Motobilt fleet—would be rocking a seamless, weather-ready audio-visual upgrade with the Horizon 12 at the center.

For us, this collaboration with Stinger Solutions wasn’t just about better sound or a bigger screen—it was about elevating the Jeep experience. Whether you’re blasting down the trail with the top off or taking hands-free calls with the doors down, the Horizon 12 makes it easier to stay connected while keeping the focus on the adventure ahead.
