The Motobilt 15 inch stretch corner armor solves this by effectively converting your YJ tub to LJ length.
These corners extend the body approximately 15 inches and reposition the wheel opening to match a stretched rear axle location. Because the wheel opening is already cut and placed into the panel, your rear wheelbase must also be stretched 15 inches to align correctly with the new body.
This removes the guesswork from stretching a factory tub and gives you a clean, repeatable way to match the body to a stretched chassis.
Unlike over-the-rail designs, this corner keeps the factory upper sheet metal rail exposed. This is important for builders who want to retain the ability to run a soft top or hard top. Because the upper rail is not covered, the factory top mounting surfaces remain usable.
The design leaves the rear open for customization. There are no pre-cut tail light holes or mounting provisions, allowing you to place lighting exactly where it fits your build.
A drop down tailgate is required with this setup. Motobilt offers a compatible option with part number MB1168.
Installation requires cutting and modifying the factory tub. The system is designed to work with additional Motobilt components that complete the stretch, including inner fenders and floor extensions.
