When stretching a Jeep YJ 15 inches to LJ-length proportions, the rear of the body moves back but the rocker area still has to be extended to connect the front of the tub to the new rear section. If that section is not addressed, the body will not tie together correctly and the side of the Jeep is left unfinished.
The Motobilt 15 inch stretch rocker guards with tube step are designed specifically for that part of the build. These rockers extend from the front fender all the way to the rear wheel opening when stretching a Jeep YJ body by 15 inches. They are built to work with the 15 inch Unlimited body stretch and include tie-in plates for the rear stretch corners so the rocker and corner armor can bolt together as a matched system.
Motobilt also includes cap plates for both the front and rear of the rocker guards for added strength. These are not welded in place so the installer can modify the rockers as needed to better suit the build.
The tube step is built from 1.75 inch tubing and uses a step plate for easier access into the vehicle. It also adds another layer of protection along the side of the Jeep and gives the vehicle a solid surface to pivot on around rocks and trees on the trail.
All parts are laser cut in-house and CNC formed from 3/16 inch high strength steel plate. The rockers wrap underneath the body and tie into the factory body mounts for a stronger, more integrated fit. They are countersunk and ship bare metal with hardware included.
