Stretched wheelbase tube fender rock crawling Jeeps have become very common on the trails. The Motobilt Stretched TJ Fuel Cell offers room to keep the tank underneath the Jeep and stretch the wheelbase in the rear up to 6” depending on the axle you are running. The Motobilt Stretch Fuel Cell with skid plate is designed for hardcore wheeling and hold up for many years to come.  Like all of the Motobilt tanks they are manufactured in house utilizing state of the art laser cutting and forming technology. We stand behind our tanks and guarantee them against manufacture defect.

Designed as a heavy duty upgrade to 1997-2006 Jeep TJ or LJ, this 14.5 gallon fuel tank features an all aluminum fuel cell constructed from 1/8” thick aluminum sheet that is precision CNC laser cut & CNC press brake formed. The tank is TIG welded for superior weld strength & weld finish. The fuel fill & vent tubes are CNC machined then TIG welded to the aluminum tank body. These machined parts are positioned in the factory location & accept the factory fuel filler hose & vent tube from a 97'-02' TJ (not included). TJ's made between 03'-06' will need to purchase the older style fuel filler hose and vent.

The top side of the tank also features a roll over valve (included) & one 8-AN fitting for adding your vent tube (vent tube not included). We also include a ¾” thick machined aluminum mount location for the stock Jeep TJ fuel pump from a 2005-2006 model ONLY. This means if you have an older model TJ you will need to buy a fuel pump and pigtail to work with this fuel cell. Select the option to purchase the pigtail along with the fuel cell, or purchase here separatelyThe sealing of the fuel pump is done via an integrated o-ring groove (o-ring not included). The o-ring this is sized for this fuel tight seal also fits a 2007-2018 Jeep JK/JKU fuel tank.fuel pump seal (Mopar #55366298AA – NOT included).  The stock TJ fuel pump is securely sandwiched by an upper steel clamping ring & eight (8) ¼” hex bolts (fasteners included).

The Motobilt TJ Stretch Fuel Cell is fully protected by a heavy duty 3/16” steel skid. The steel skid is fully MIG welded & perfectly mounts to your stock TJ frame. The aluminum fuel tank is secured to the steel skid using two steel hold down straps complete with adjustable fasteners.

The Motobilt TJ Stretch Tank does NOT require a body lift to install. Will NOT work with Motobilt TJ or LJ Back Half Kit.
