Does your Jeep YJ run without gas? It sure doesn’t and this is a concern for those wheeling their Jeep in rough terrain. The factory Jeep YJ gas tank skid plate does not offer the protection needed when off-roading on rocks and such. Here at Motobilt we offer a heavy duty skid plate to protect the factory plastic gas tank from trail damage. The gas tank skid plate is fabricated from heavy duty 3/16” steel plate. We laser cut and form the parts on the most advanced machines here in house in the USA. The Gas Tank Skid Plate for the Jeep YJ bolts into the factory location using the factory hold down straps and hardware. The skid plate ships welded and bare steel. You will need to paint or powder coat it the color of your choice before installing.
