Once you stretch the rear axle on a Jeep JK 2 door, the factory rocker protection and typical bolt-on sliders no longer line up with the new wheelbase. The body is extended visually with stretch rocker armor and corner guards, but without a properly matched slider, the lower structure is left exposed.
At the same time, larger tires and increased suspension travel put more load on the rocker area. Factory mounting points and light-duty sliders are not designed to handle the abuse that comes with 40 inch and larger tires in a stretched configuration.
The Motobilt frame mounted stretch rock slider is designed to solve that by extending protection to match the stretched wheelbase while tying directly into the frame for strength. These sliders are built from 2 inch DOM steel tubing combined with 3/16 inch steel plate that ties the structure together and mounts directly to the frame.
This design follows the same proven layout as the MB1159 rock sliders but is extended to work with Motobilt stretch systems. It provides continuous protection from the front of the rocker to the rear corner, eliminating the gap created when the axle is moved back.
These sliders are designed to integrate with MB1279 and MB1279-F stretch rocker armor, as well as MB1138 stretch corner armor. When combined, the rocker, slider, and corner create a continuous protection system that supports larger tires, increased suspension travel, and real trail use.
This system is commonly used with Motobilt rear stretch setups in the 6 to 10 inch range and pairs with components like MB7018 and MB7019 4 link kits, MB1580 shock towers, MB5099 stretch fuel cell, and MB1260 rear bumper.
This is a welded frame-mounted solution designed for builders who need real protection and structure in a stretched JK build.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you need stretch rock sliders on a Jeep JK?
When you stretch the rear axle, the factory length sliders no longer cover the full rocker area. Stretch sliders extend protection to match the new wheelbase.
Do these bolt on or require welding?
These require welding directly to the frame for strength and proper fitment.
What size tires are these designed for?
These are commonly used on builds running 40 inch tires and larger.
What other parts should be used with these sliders?
These are designed to work with MB1279 or MB1279-F rocker armor and MB1138 stretch corner armor as part of a complete stretch system.
How much stretch is required for these sliders?
A minimum of 6 inches of rear stretch is recommended when running 40 inch tires
