Stretching a Jeep YJ changes more than wheelbase. As the body and frame are extended, the factory rocker length no longer matches the new layout. The result is a gap in the side profile that leaves exposed areas and breaks up the body lines of the build.
The Motobilt 6 Inch Stretch Rocker Guards are designed to extend the rocker area and match the additional body length created during a stretched YJ build. By adding six inches to the rocker profile, these guards help bridge the transition between the factory tub and the extended rear section while providing protection where trail damage commonly occurs.
Choose Standard if running no flare.
Choose Notched if running a flare.
Built from 3/16-inch A36 steel, these rocker guards are designed to handle contact with rocks, ledges, and obstacles while adding strength along the lower body. The formed construction maintains a clean, straight body line and complements the appearance of a properly stretched Jeep YJ.
The MB1231 provides rocker protection, while the MB1231-S incorporates an integrated step for improved access to lifted vehicles.
Designed to work alongside other stretched YJ components, these rocker guards integrate with stretch corner armor and rear chassis modifications to create a finished body profile. Do I need notched or standard rockers?
If you are running Motobilt fenders without a flare then choose the standard but if they have a flare then choose the notched option.
